01 / MARKET OVERVIEW
The template market is in a supply shock.
52% of the entire template catalogue — 5,261 of 10,156 items — was published in the last 90 days. Monthly output jumped from 102 in January to 2,120 in June, a roughly 20× increase in five months.
Seven mainstream verticals absorb the majority of new supply: Agency, Portfolio, Landing Page, SaaS, Professional Services, Startup and AI. They now deliver the marketplace’s weakest engagement per fresh competitor.
The effective competitor set now refreshes every quarter.

What the data cannot prove
Framer does not expose sales, installs, revenue or conversion. Likes and comments are attention proxies and systematically under-represent B2B utility categories. Tags are author-assigned, multi-tagging inflates category sums, and the June 2026 spike may partly reflect a migration or backfill. Treat every engagement figure as directional until a daily time series exists.
